About Radcliffe Jewelers

Radcliffe Jewelers offers Baltimore’s luxury shoppers an unparalleled selection of fine Swiss timepieces, heirloom-worthy and fashionable jewelry, and an exceptional selection of giftware. From its beginnings as a modest, three-employee, 750-square-foot operation in 1983, Radcliffe Jewelers has since evolved into one of the country’s premier luxury shopping destinations. Under the thoughtful leadership of partners John Shmerler and Paul Winicki, the two magnificent Radcliffe Jewelers locations attract a discerning and loyal clientele.

The recently renovated, two-story Pikesville location features multiple shop-in-shop experiences. The first floor has been enhanced to include boutiques from Breitling, Cartier and Rolex, each adding to its already captivating collection of the finest selection of luxury merchandise. The impeccable selection of timepieces also includes Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC, Officine Panerai and many more, to complement stunning jewelry from designers such as Paul Morelli, Penny Preville and Pomellato.

The second floor showcases expansive choices in china, crystal and giftware, an unrivaled assortment to delight any bride and groom creating a registry.

“Everyone in our company is so proud of the renovation and installation of the new environments. Adding the Rolex and Cartier brands to our portfolio of offerings is great for our clients,” Radcliffe Jewelers’ owner John Shmerler shares.

The Radcliffe location in Towson is equally as impressive. It is touted for having one of the largest bridal and engagement ring selections across Maryland. The elegant showroom features collections from renowned Swiss watch houses, including Cartier, Breguet, Tudor and more. The jewelry selection is extensive and exquisite, featuring well-known brands such as Roberto Coin, Mikimoto, Bulgari and Elizabeth Locke. Radcliffe’s Towson location also maintains an active estate business, purchasing luxury timepieces from clients, and also offering an extensive collection of pre-owned timepieces for sale. And in 2013, Radcliffe welcomed a pre-owned handbag boutique to this location, where clients delight in the discovery of vintage wares by Hermès, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.

Three cornerstone ideals have guided the company since its founding: service, selection and customer satisfaction. Radcliffe regularly goes above and beyond, creating the ultimate shopping experience for its discerning clientele.

“Our service, our knowledge, our collections and our unyielding dedication to our customers set us apart from others in the industry,” Shmerler remarks. “We take pride in exceeding our customers’ expectations.”

Nearly 70 highly trained and passionate associates comprise the Radcliffe Jewelers team, each committed to furthering the company’s reputation for excellence. They impart sincere enthusiasm with each client interaction, welcoming inquiries and helping to further individual experiences in horological discovery. Talented jewelers, craftsmen and watchmakers also maintain important roles, as they ensure that all watch and jewelry needs are met with great care.

Throughout the year, Radcliffe designs and hosts many exciting events, focusing on providing unique opportunities for its customers. Events range from collection launches with celebrated watchmakers to in-store trunk shows highlighting the collections of favored jewelry designers, sponsorships of cultural happenings in the Baltimore community and many philanthropic endeavors. Among Radcliffe Jewelers’ annual traditions is its vibrant Holiday Show, which customers, friends and industry partners have certainly come to anticipate.

Also in 2016, Radcliffe Jewelers traveled to New York City to visit John Hardy’s showroom and meet the experts; they also availed themselves of an Artisan Masterclass, which was a behind-the-scenes look at the craftsmanship that goes into each piece of John Hardy Jewelry. In April, artist and designer Michael Aram visited for a showing of his Spring 2016 fine jewelry and home décor collections.

The company culture is not limited to in-store activity, as Radcliffe offers clients a comprehensive digital experience as well. A recently re-launched website conveys the breadth of available product, and Radcliffe’s team maintains a strong presence on a host of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and an engaging company blog.

Under the leadership of Paul Winicki and John Shmerler, Radcliffe Jewelers continues to thrive. Keeping its founding ideals of service, selection and customer satisfaction close to heart, the company is well poised for many more years of success.

About Provident Jewelry

Established in 1993 as a “mom and pop” jewelry store in downtown West Palm Beach, Provident Jewelry has enjoyed remarkable growth over the last 23 years. With hard work, a focus on superior customer service, and an unwavering sense of integrity, the company has evolved to comprise seven exquisite locations in Florida, and a reputation for excellence extending far beyond the Sunshine State. The most recent addition is the store in Wellington, Florida, which opened in 2016 and features an on-site master jeweler and watchmaker. Fiona Krüger, Arnold & Son, Ulysse Nardin and MB&F are all featuring product there. Also that year, the original Naples Provident location moved, doubling its space, to 5th Avenue in Naples—one of the top ten shopping locations in the country.

Still a family-owned operation, though not in the hands of the original owners, Provident Jewelry is under the leadership of a dynamic team. Rob Samuels, Scott Diament, Jarred Kaplan, Aaron Steinberg, Nick Linca, Seth Berman and Geoffrey Fear work together as they procure some of the area’s most distinguished horological offerings. Represented brands include such revered names as Arnold & Son, Baume & Mercier, Bell & Ross, Breitling, Carl F. Bucherer, Cartier, Chanel, Christophe Claret, Chopard, Corum, Emmanuel Bouchet, Louis Moinet, MB&F, Parmigiani Fleurier, Raymond Weil, Tudor and Ulysse Nardin. Breitling and Cartier are among the most sought-after brands, due to their well-respected craftsmanship, aesthetics and wide range of prices; however, there is a niche for each of the available brands.

Each of Provident Jewelry’s stores boasts a contemporary layout, with traditional touches throughout to enhance the décor, and ample seating for visitors and shoppers. Well-lit showcases house the finely crafted timepieces and exquisite jewels, which include the collections of Bez Ambar, Buccellati, Gucci, Gregg Ruth, Henry Designs, Ippolita, Lithos, Marco Bicego, Milus and Roberto Coin. The company is proud to also offer one of the largest collections of loose and mounted diamonds in the country, with affiliations with the World Federation of Diamond Bourses and the Diamond Bourse of the Southeast U.S.A.

In addition to the well-respected designer collections, Provident Jewelry is pleased to offer custom jewelry fashioned on-site. With stones from its extensive cache of diamonds, and colored gemstones paired with gorgeous settings, a beautiful piece of custom jewelry is just a consultation away. Graduate gemologists and expert jewelry craftsmen quite literally “make your dreams come true” by designing high-quality pieces to the exact specifications of their customers.

Orbita and Avanti watch winders, writing instruments from Cartier and Montblanc and giftware from Lalique are also offered to Provident’s discerning clientele. And while there is some variation in the collections available within each of the Provident Jewelry locations, the stores are unified through a shared commitment to personalized customer care and a gentile ambiance that makes customers feel welcomed and valued.

Provident boasts more than 50 dedicated employees, each of whom is well versed in the technical language of the watch and jewelry industries. The company provides in-house training and offers continuing education opportunities through their represented brands. A watchmaker is on-site to answer questions, perform repairs and cleanings, and provide warranty service. In addition to attracting a following for its exquisite timepieces and jewels, Provident Jewelry has gained a reputation for its thriving pre-owned and vintage watch business. Often one-of-a-kind, Provident’s estate timepieces offer watch aficionados the opportunity to expand their personal collections in unique ways, with pieces that are nearly impossible to find in today’s marketplace. Signed jewelry by David Webb, Cartier and Tiffany & Co., as well as pre-owned watches by Rolex, Patek Philippe and more, are available.

Provident Jewelry maintains an informative and easy-to-navigate website, where clients may find information about each of the stores, as well as educational information about jewelry, watches, gemstones and special services. The company is also quite active in the realm of social networking, staying in touch with its clientele through Facebook, Twitter and a Provident Jewelry blog.

Provident Jewelry hosts a variety of events throughout each year, many benefitting important causes. The company is committed to many philanthropic initiatives, particularly those benefitting U.S. Veterans. In addition Provident Jewelry supports, among other organizations, the Palm Beach Symphony, Beyond Blindness and Quantum House, a local initiative that helps families whose children are receiving treatment in Palm Beach County for serious medical conditions.

The company marked the expansion of its Jupiter store last year with a grand opening celebration where 300 guests, including friends, clients and brand partners, experienced the store’s new 1,300-square- foot luxury lounge. The area, coined the Dream Factory, features a walk-in humidor, full bar, on-site watchmaker and some of the world’s most extraordinary timepieces and jewels. More recently, the company’s grand opening celebration of the Palm Beach location was held.

With over two decades of experience, impeccable taste in the horological realm and an unparalleled jewelry collection, Provident Jewelry is well poised for many more years of continued success.

About O.C. Tanner Jeweler

O.C. Tanner Jewelers has been a welcome feature of Utah’s retail landscape since 1927, when Obert C. Tanner founded his company along the Wasatch Front. It wasn’t until 1976 that he realized his dream of opening “the most beautiful jewelry store in America.” That year saw the debut of the jeweler’s location on South Temple in Salt Lake City, followed in 2000 by a second location on Historic Main Street in Park City. In 2009, the South Temple store moved to 15 South State Street, where it resides today. In 2011 the company opened the Rolex Boutique by O.C. Tanner at the City Creek Center, also in Salt Lake City.

“Our South Temple location brought world-class fine jewelry and timepieces to Salt Lake City and the region for the first time, including Rolex and Patek Philippe,” explains VP of Retail Stores, Kathleen Sacco.

The new flagship location was the original Salt Lake City library, which had been converted to a planetarium in the 1960s. It has a charming and historically significant beaux-arts façade, juxtaposed by a modern interior that offers the ideal environs for O.C. Tanner’s elegant displays of watches and jewelry, including a Patek Philippe shop-in-shop. The Park City store’s historic pioneer architecture is complemented by an interior that embraces a rustic-contemporary style, sharing space with an elegant Rolex boutique. Both locations are the proud purveyors of some of the most prestigious, world-renowned watch brands, including Cartier, Breitling, Tudor, Omega and Hermès, in addition to Patek Philippe and Rolex.

Equally impressive, jewelry brands Mikimoto, Pomellato, Kwiat, William Goldberg, Rahaminov, Monica Rich Kosann, Penny Preville, Suna Bros., Jade Trau, Mattia Cielo and Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen are exclusive to O.C. Tanner in Utah. The company’s offerings also include other esteemed marques, such as Roberto Coin, David Yurman and John Hardy. O.C. Tanner’s own line of jewelry comprises engagement and wedding rings, earrings, bracelets, pendants and more—each expertly handcrafted in-house by the company’s master jewelers. O.C. Tanner prides itself on its use of only the finest cuts of diamonds set in 18-karat gold or exclusive alloys of white gold or platinum. The stores’ jewelers are also at the ready to create custom pieces for their esteemed clientele, who hail from all over the world.

O. C. Tanner Jewelers has rightfully earned a reputation for creating an unparalleled luxury experience for its patrons, warmed by a welcoming and dedicated staff highly educated in their respective professions. There are currently 40 employees, including sales associates, master jewelers and a watchmaker in residence at the flagship store, and each team member is ready and willing to share an extensive knowledge about watches and watch collecting. WOSTEP-certified Nathan Fredell is a Rolex-trained watchmaker, and he plays an instrumental role in the before-and-after sales satisfaction of the store’s customers who avail themselves of his exceptional work.

O.C. Tanner Jewelers is well regarded for its role in assisting collectors with the acquisitions of highly sought-after, rare timepieces and guidance for future additions to their collections. Customers are often avid watch afficionados who own more than a dozen timepieces. Rolex and Patek Philippe are the most popular brands. In another effort to expand customer satisfaction, O.C. Tanner Jewelers accepts watch trade-ins and will put clients in contact with its trusted watch dealers who facilitate this opportunity.

“Watch enthusiasts love to connect and converse with other individuals who also share their knowledge and passion for timepieces and their manufacturers,” says Patek Philippe Ambassador Salvo Vergadavola. “We feel it is essential to make a genuine connection based on our expertise and love of timepieces. Collectors should look at our sales staff as sincere and knowledgeable advisors.”

With a busy roster of in-store events, O.C. Tanner Jewelers maintains a high profile within its community and its private invitations are among the most coveted in the region. The company hosts a regular Patek Philippe Collectors event, which is an intimate dinner with a Patek Philippe watchmaker and a brand representative. Another recent event, with Omega, gave attendees the opportunity to disassemble and reassemble a timepiece and meet Omega watchmakers.

The family-owned O.C. Tanner Jewelers, which is celebrating its ninetieth anniversary in 2017, is forging into the future with a strong digital strategy that includes a sophisticated website, as well as social media presence that includes Instagram and Facebook. The user-friendly site features the engaging story of the company and its Utah roots, as well as information about the many watch and jewelry brands it carries today. Adding to that, information about the stores’ bridal and home and lifestyle offerings are available.

The Tanner family and Obert’s daughter Caroline Tanner Irish, who is President of the Board of O.C. Tanner, are known within their community for their generous contributions to higher education, the arts and humanitarian causes. The jewelry stores regularly support those organizations in which their customers are involved, including museums and performing arts organizations, and they have hosted the Hope Gala for the Utah Chapter of the American Cancer Society. So with a generous heart and exciting plans for the future, O.C. Tanner Jewelers is certain to maintain its status, in vision, as one of the most beautiful jewelry stores in America.

About Manfredi Jewels

The charming town of Greenwich, Connecticut, is home to one of the country’s premier destinations for enthusiasts of fine timepieces and exceptional jewelry. Established over a quarter of a century ago by the charismatic Roberto Chiappelloni, Manfredi Jewels began as an intimate retail outlet for the jewelry collections of designer Giulio Manfredi, who was raised in the same Northern Italian village as Roberto. The shop provided a venue for Roberto to share his growing passion for the complicated art of horology, and he attracted an international clientele in search of collectible timepieces and stunning jewelry.

A few years ago, Manfredi Jewels celebrated its 25th anniversary as a full-service jewelry and watch boutique with a steadfast reputation for excellence, representation of the most elite brands and an elegant 3,300-square-foot showroom. Manfredi underwent an outstanding expansion and redesign in 2008 and today its aesthetic mirrors that of a European-style salon. The space is sleek and contemporary, featuring an elliptical layout with “walls of watches” and a center “island of jewelry,” where some of the most distinguished names in luxury may be found. The jewelry cases were recently expanded to provide a more open and luxurious space in which to display them, and Tacori has been added to the store’s offerings to engage the store’s growing bridal clientele. Adjacent to the showroom is an expertly appointed lounge space, ideal for relaxed browsing.

“Our mission was to create a luxurious and comfortable space in which to experience beautiful, complicated and rare timepieces,” Roberto shared. Beautiful and rare indeed. Manfredi boasts a collection of illustrious and highly coveted brands, including Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, Breguet, F.P. Journe, Ulysse Nardin, Vacheron Constantin, Omega, Laurent Ferrier and more.

The Manfredi team points to Vacheron Constantin as one of its most sought-after brands, noting its classic high-end style, superior craftsmanship and overall reputation for reliability. Noted trends among Manfredi’s male clientele also reveal a return to a traditional and conservative aesthetic, while the desire for bigger and trendier timepieces has shifted to women.

An assortment of pre-owned and vintage timepieces may also be found within Manfredi’s showcases, each of which has undergone careful service and restoration by Manfredi’s expert watchmakers. Interest in pre-owned timepieces has escalated in recent years, and enthusiasts regularly find great delight in the hidden treasures and rare discontinued models found within the store’s pre-owned selection. In response to this growing market, Alessandro Baldi Talini, Ph.D., was hired in the newly created position of Business Manager of Pre-Owned and Vintage Watches charged with expanding this business through various venues, including a recently launched website, social media—Instagram and Facebook—and e-commerce.

Keen watch collectors who own dozens of fine timepieces and the more casual connoisseur alike frequent Manfredi Jewels. Each is greeted with the same level of personalized care.

“We develop strong relationships with our clients based upon an understanding of their likes and interests, not just about price,” Roberto remarked.

Manfredi Jewels employs 15 individuals in its two locations, including two master watchmakers and a talented goldsmith. Each member of the Manfredi team boasts an extensive knowledge of the watch industry, accrued through a variety of means. Roberto points to the thorough reading of enthusiast publications, brand-supplied literature and the many resources online as key components. “We pursue every avenue the manufacturers provide for education, from in-house training sessions to Swiss factory visits and centralized U.S. trainings,” he shares. Throughout the course of a year, Manfredi hosts intimate events celebrating the industry, joining with clients who also admire the fine art of watchmaking and its superior craftsmanship.

“For the last several years, we have had the honor to host private collectors’ dinners, featuring presentations from world-class watchmakers and providing clients the opportunity to handle the newest introductions from the world’s great watch companies,” adds Roberto.

Recognizing the good fortune they have experienced over the past twenty-five years, Manfredi Jewels is deeply committed to enriching and supporting the community that has sustained it over its tenure.

Philanthropic and civic commitments span a range of important causes, with ongoing support demonstrated for the Wounded Warrior Project, the Police Athletic League, the Holocaust Memorial, the Tolerance Center, the Enchanted Forest, a number of educational initiatives and much more.

About Little Europe Jewels & Time

Little Europe Jewels & Time, situated in Oranjestad, Aruba, serves vacationers from around the world while visiting the Caribbean. Founded in 1978 in St. Thomas by Peter and Nina Alwani, the family-owned business, now comprising three stores, is represented by the second generation, with Girish and Satish Alwani at the helm. The two Aruba locations, Little Europe Jewels & Time and Time Square Jewels & Time, five star rated by Tripadvisor.com, are operated by Girish, who is also the watch buyer. (See this book for information about Time Square Jewels & Time.)

“My favorite part of the watch industry is seeing new innovations,” says Girish. “The watch industry is forever changing due to young and passionate watchmakers who push the limits and take risks.”

The 1,200-square-foot boutique has a traditional look with a variety of watch brands showcased on the perimeter and jewelry featured in the center island. Bell & Ross, Frédérique Constant, Luminox, Oris, Ulysse Nardin and many other well-respected watch brands are on display. Jewelry brands by Belle Etoile, Hidalgo, and Nina Nguyen and writing instruments by Montegrappa are also represented, as are watch winders, boxes and accessories by Under- wood and Wolf1834.

According to a company spokesperson, Ulysse Nardin is one of the store’s most popular brands, with its large selection of time- pieces in a broad range of styles—including those with complicated movements. Little Europe Jewels & Time recently sold a Ulysse Nardin limited edition Trilogy set. Other popular brands include Richard Mille, Roger Dubuis, Franck Muller and Tissot.

In 2013, the company took on several new brands, including Richard Mille and Franck Muller and in 2015 added SevenFriday and Tissot to its brand list. The pre-owned watch segment of the business is growing and has become a popular attraction at Little Europe Jewels & Time. The company accepts watch trade-ins from its clientele on a regular basis.

Shoppers at Little Europe Jewels & Time range from neophyte watch afficionados to those who own 10 watches and more. In addition, celebrities and other public figures passing through Aruba make the store a destination during their visit, and they come back for both the service and the quality of the merchandise available. Both Time Square Jewels & Time and Little Europe Jewels & Time have service centers in Los Angeles and New York, making it accessible for customers who made a purchase on vacation to have their pieces taken care of closer to home.

The company’s staff of 18 are highly trained via watch magazines, brand trainings and administrative feedback, and they make customer service their number one priority. According to Girish, the holiday season is the store’s busiest time of the year, since so many people are traveling to this region during that time. Local customers make up about 5 percent of the store’s visitors, while national customers comprise 75 percent and international customers about 20 percent.

Little Europe Jewels & Time annually participates in the Aruba International Film Festival (AIFF), which has become high on the list for members of the film community because of its great location and its potential for growth. As for philanthropic commitments, the company is very active in assisting the local orphanage and senior living facilities.

The store keeps its customers informed about events and new products via a variety of initiatives, including an informational website, though future plans include an e-commerce site. And, of course, social media is playing an increasing role.

“With so many changes in the digital landscape, it is imperative that our presence is known through social media, such as Twitter, Face- book, Instagram and Pinterest,” says Girish.

As for trends, Girish says that men’s watches are booming at his store and account for about 49 percent of the company’s sales. Women are looking for timeless, classic designs in their timepieces. Thus it seems that with its great location and inventory of watches and jewelry, Little Europe Jewels & Time is sure to remain on the list of must-see places when visiting the island of Aruba.
