For the third anniversary of the Cedric Bellon Sustainable Watches brand the CB01 comes back in a very special repurposed titanium execution with vibrant dial colours. A new collab between Cedric Bellon and Watch Angels.

The CB01 Small Seconds comes back in repurposed grade 5 titanium execution. According to the philosophy of the CB brand – which only crafts locally, in Switzerland, with locally sourced up-cycled, recycled or recyclable raw materials and components – the case, dial and buckle are machined out of small segments of titanium bars that are left over from other productions.

The CB01 small seconds

The CB01 small seconds was the first watch to be designed and developed for maximum sustainability. It’s circularly produced with a purposely build supply chain and a purposely optimised manufacturing system aimed at maximising material, transformation and transportation, sustainability. It was also the first watch with a sustainability certificate of its own. The new CB01 TI shares the same components, production system and movement of the CB01 small seconds, albeit machined in Titanium. The CB01 TI is a new development for the brand which aims at repurposing new materials that offer new aesthetic effects.

Sandblasted case and vibrant colours

The vibrant colours of the CB01 TI vertically brushed titanium dials (matched with the colour of the small seconds hand) have been obtained by the sustainable PVD coating technique, and, in order to increase the sustainability of the process, the dials have been added to existing productions in order not to utilise dedicated machine capacity and energy.
The indigo, green, blue, orange and black titanium dials possess the signature CB light reflection characteristic whereby the colour tone changes according to the reflection of the light on the dial providing the user with a unique aesthetic experience.
The titanium grade 5 case, crown and buckle are sandblasted and the matte tool watch effect of the case highlights the dial colors to perfection.

The movement

The CB01 encases a repurposed DD14060 small seconds Dubois Dépraz caliber which was first commissioned on an exclusive basis by another brand, of which a small stock remains. It features a small seconds module at 12 o’clock on a Sellita SW300 base.

From Geneva to Tokyo, always be on time. Indulge yourself with our Highlife Worldtimer Manufacture watch that effortlessly connects you with all 24 time zones.

Since its creation, Frederique Constant has capitalised on the expertise of its Geneva-based manufacture. It’s here, in the birthplace of watchmaking, that the brand’s Worldtimer FC-718 calibre was designed, produced and assembled. It has become a movement of its time: modern, precise and reliable, not to mention tried and tested. Being featured at the forefront of the Highlife collection is a first and represents a major turning point for the Brand.

SIMPLE, ACCURATE, INTUITIVE

The self-winding FC-718 mechanical movement has a power reserve of 38 hours. It is visible through the case back, water-resistant up to 50 metres. One can admire the typical Genevan finishes that Frederique Constant is so fond of, perlage and circular Côtes de Genève among them.

DESIGN

The Highlife Gents models have a 41 mm case, available in various materials. The lack of horns allows for greater flexibility and helps the watch sit naturally on the wrist. The integrated design is infinitely more complicated to conceive than any strap with horns. The process requires perfect continuity between the lines of the case and the links, a smooth, regular but gradual transition to the clasp and natural fluidity that should be almost imperceptible.

AN INGENIOUS STRAP SYSTEM

Frederique Constant launched the first models in the Highlife collection over 20 years ago. Their unique design was characterised by the special strap built into the case. Since, the Brand has updated the ingenious concept and reinvigorated the collection, featuring the system which makes it possible to switch between a steel bracelet or rubber strap, alternating from classic to sporty on a whim!

ONE EARTH, THREE STRAPS

For the Highlife Worldtimer Manufacture, the Brand has created not one, not two, but three straps for it – a rarity in watchmaking nowadays. The first option is a polished and satin-brushed three-link steel bracelet with folding buckle, the second is a blue strap with silky nubuck finish and the third is a blue rubber strap to complement the urban feel of the watch.

The finishing on Candaux’s movements are second-to-none. Think picture-perfect bevels, plenty of sharp internal corners and a delicate derivation of Geneva stripes. On top of the impeccable finishing, all of the bridges are inclined at three degrees to further emphasize the beautiful finishing. This gives a visual effect of cascading water, making the movement spectacular under bright light. It makes sense that Candaux’s finishing is so refined, as he lives very close to and has learned from finisher extraordinaire Philippe Dufour.

The DC1 Rose Gold comes in direct line of the inaugural piece launched in 2017 – a revolutionary timepiece rooted in the brand’s vision, paying homage to classic watchmaking tradition while employing modern, cutting-edge technologies.

The DC1 collection introduces several world firsts, including an all-titanium movement. The very choice of natural titanium, guided by the intention to produce a movement that could last for centuries, required new precision manufacturing and hand-decoration processes never before seen in watchmaking.

The DC1 collection features innovations such as the patented Magic Crown winding system, and a 30-degree inclined tourbillon that further enhances chronometric precision.

The DC1 Rose Gold is a dress watch designed for those who appreciate traditional horology and craftsmanship with a contemporary touch. It is a limited edition with only eight pieces available.
