Madison Avenue watch boutiques welcome watch collectors, connoisseurs and the curious during the 10th Annual Madison Avenue Watch Week, which starts April 30 and runs through May 4.

The 10th Annual Madison Avenue Watch Week is organized by the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District, its leading watch brands and boutiques, and for the first time, in partnership with the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH). The event is also held in association with the Horological Society of New York and RedBar.

The public is invited to experience the new and iconic timepieces in special viewings at the twelve participating watch stores located on Madison Avenue between East 57th and East 75th Streets.

The Week kicks-off with celebratory opening night receptions on Tuesday, April 30 from 6 to 8pm. A spirited panel discussion will take place on Thursday, May 2 at 9am, when industry experts will review the most exciting launches from Watches and Wonders Geneva, explore how vintage watches of the past are inspiring today’s designs, and share their insights on what the future holds for collectors and connoisseurs. That will be followed by the annual Madison Avenue Watch Week Walk – a stroll up the Avenue to visit participating boutiques with the experts to experience the novelties first-hand.

Ralph Lauren adds a new size to its adventure-themed Safari Chronometer collection, adding a 42.6mm model with a choice of three different dial colors: khaki, camouflage and black. The watches previously were offered only in 45mm and 39mm options.

One of three new Ralph Lauren Safari Chronometer models, each sized at 42.6mm in diameter.

Each dial color retains the Safari’s large 12 and 6 numerals and orange seconds hand and easy-to-read luminous hour and minute hands.

The Safari collection’s signature “aged” stainless steel case and varnished matte anthracite bezel frame each dial.

As you might expect from fashion-forward Ralph Lauren, the strap choice here is retro-cool.

A weathered black/brown “aged” calfskin leather strap is offered on the camouflage dial and black-dial model while a black stainless steel three-link bracelet comes attached to the khaki-dial model.

Inside each watch Ralph Lauren fits an automatic RL300-1 Caliber, a Sellita-based automatic movement that boasts a 50-hour power reserve and is water-resistant to 100 meters. Each watch is protected by a screw-down crown marked with the RL logo.

Prices: $3,500 and $3,800 (steel-bracelet model).

Ralph Lauren expands its square-cased Art Deco 867 collection with four slightly smaller models and also adds precious metal cases and top-notch manual-wind movements to the collection’s offerings.

One of four new watches in the Ralph Lauren 867 collection. This 28mm model is cased in sterling silver.

The new models add two new case sizes to the collection with two 32mm models and two 28mm models. Both are offered in sterling silver or rose gold cases. The collection had previously only offered 35mm square-cased steel models.

These elegant, time-only designs echo Art Deco era glamour with nicely proportioned lacquered white dials made with concentric squares with Arabic and Roman numerals and sleek Breguet-style hands.

All the new models are powered by an extra-flat mechanical manual winding Swiss movement made for Ralph Lauren by Piaget and based on the watchmaker’s legendary Caliber 430. The movements are hand finished with vertical Côtes de Genève stripes and circular graining (perlage).

Ralph Lauren fits each watch with an interchangeable shiny black alligator strap with a sterling silver or 18-karat rose gold pin buckle.

Prices: $8,250 (28mm silver case), $15,500 (28mm rose gold case), $8,350 (32mm silver case) and $17,000 (32mm rose gold case).

Ralph Lauren expands its watch offerings with Polo Vintage 67, a new collection of manual-wind watches styled to evoke the look of timepieces of the 1920s and 1930s.

The collection features time-only models with distinctive, retro-styled black lacquer numerals, hands and markers, all set within an equally vintage-styled opaline silvered dial. A handsome boxed sapphire crystal tops the nicely proportioned dial, which also features a sub-seconds display.

This new series is decidedly more classically designed than the recent Ralph Lauren Polo models with the brand’s Polo Bear or Polo Pony on their dials.

Inside the 40mm aged-steel case Ralph Lauren places a customized La Joux-Perret manual-wind movement that offers an impressive ninety-hour power reserve. From the clear sapphire caseback the owner can eye the movement, which exposes its hand-finished vertical Côtes de Genève stripes and circular graining.

Ralph Lauren attaches an interchangeable burnished tan calf strap (with a removable back pad) to the watch. While Ralph Lauren has thoughtfully pre-aged the Polo Vintage 67’s case and dial style, the strap will age slowly as you wear it.

Price: $2,700.

Ralph Lauren’s ‘affordably’ priced Polo Watch line now includes three new models, each with a 3-D printed image of the brand’s signature Polo player on horseback centered in a new white lacquered dial.

The Ralph Lauren Polo Blue Bezel watch.

The white dials expand the Ralph Lauren Polo Collection of 42mm steel-cased automatic watches, which already includes models with black, green or blue dials with interchangeable leather or silk strap options.

The Ralph Lauren Polo Brown Bezel watch, pictured with optional steel bracelet.

The new series, available with blue, green or brown aluminum bezels, includes a matching Polo-branded rubber strap, enhancing the line’s sporty profile. Steel bracelets and NATO straps are also available for watches in the collection.

Inside each watch Ralph Lauren places a Swiss-made Sellita automatic movement, visible through the Polo Watch’s sapphire caseback and protected to 100 meters of water resistance. The movements are decorated with vertical Côtes de Genève stripes and circular graining, known as perlage. Price: $2,000.
