Luminox Goes for the Gold

Luminox celebrates the golden ratio with a new gold-tinged Navy SEAL 3500 Series in a special limited edition of 1,618 units.

This very specific number of watches is the whole number equivalent of phi, also known as the golden number, the golden proportion or the golden ratio.

The watch comes with two straps, one rubber and one dark NATO. The gold touches are on the hands, the crown, the first twenty minutes on the unidirectional turning bezel, the caseback and the 24-hour numbers on the dial.

The gold color also outlines the Luminox logo at 12 o’clock. Of course, one feature found on all Luminox watches is its self-powered illumination technology derived from tritium tubes on the markings, and in some cases on the dial. Here, the hands and the five-minute markers are impressively luminous.

The Luminox Navy SEAL 3500 gold limited edition features a 45mm Carbonex case and is water resistant to 200 meters. On the caseback is the limited-edition number engraved in gold color and the Navy SEAL insignia. The 45mm watch is priced at $545.
