This large-sized Santos, with its graduated blue dial, is not officially an SIHH 2019 entry, but instead expands the bedrock Cartier collection the brand updated last year.
With new easily interchangeable steel bracelets and leather straps (both included), the newest iteration of the full Cartier Santos collection includes two case sizes (large and medium) and features models made with all-steel, steel and yellow gold, pink gold and yellow gold cases. The interchangeability, which Cartier dubs QuickSwitch, allows the wearer to change his or her bracelet without the need for a tool.
As with all the large-cased Santo models, this newest blue-dialed version includes a date display and utilizes the same Cartier 1847 MC automatic caliber inside the other Santos offerings. Here however, the dial color and case metal are perfectly matched for those in search of some extra excitement.
The graduated blue dial here offers a sharp contrast to the rest of the 2018 rebooted Santos models. With the exception of the superb skeletonized version, all the initial Santos de Cartier debuts from 2018 featured silvered opaline (white) dials. The new blue zing here will cost no more than the original large-sized version either, as both are priced at $6,850.
