Anonimo communes with nature as it combines a forest green dial with a handmade leather calfskin strap to create its newest Epurato.
The Epurato Verde Natura is a 42mm steel cushion-cased watch that continues this Italo-Swiss company’s addition of more casual designs, a move signaled as it debuted the Epurato collection last year.
Known for two decades primarily as a maker of nautically themed round and cushion-cased timepieces, many sporting bronze cases, Anonimo in recent years has broadened its appeal to those in search of a more leisurely design and more moderate sizes.
Instead of the metallic green dial seen on an earlier, bronze-cased Epurato, this newer examples offers a matte ‘fir green’ dial that Anonimo says will change its hue under differing light conditions. Also new is the interchangeable strap that allows the wearer to easily change as desired.
Epurato’s dial retains its Anonimo flavor with its large Arabic 12, 4 and 8, tracing a triangle across its broad dial. There’s a crown guard here as well, echoing Anonimo’s Nautilo collection. But here Anonimo plays it traditional with a crown at 3 o’clock instead of at 4 o’clock as on its Nautilo collection, or at noon, as seen on Anonimo’s Militaire line. A Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, visible in part through a transparent caseback, shows a beaded movement endowed with a skeletonized and Côtes de Genève- decorated rotor.
