(Sponsored Post) This latest addition to the flagship G-Shock MR-G Series is entirely finished in black. The G-Shock MRGG2000CB-1A all-black titanium case and band shields the watch from shock of any type. In fact, the watch’s bezel is made of Cobarion, a new material that is two to three times harder than stainless steel, providing excellent wear resistance.
As a bonus, Cobarion can also be polished to a mirror finish, which G-Shock has done here. Most parts of the case and band also feature deep-layer hardening to increase hardness, on top of which G-Shock has applied a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating. Every protective feature aligns with what you likely already know about G-Shock: It’s the single watch brand designed to resist any type of attack.
This MR-G model, however, also delivers timekeeping features that place it at the top of the G-Shock range. It’s equipped with G-Shock’s own 3-Way Connected Engine, which always displays the correct local time, anywhere in the world.
This Connected Engine is a next-generation watch module developed to connect the watch to a timeservers through a paired smartphone. This ensures the watch displays accurate local time anywhere on the globe and also automatically updates the daylight saving time and time zone information.
Using the dedicated smartphone app, the wearer can check the watch status and set the World Time function from a selection of more than 300 cities. This G-Shock MRGG2000CB-1A is designed to receive time calibration signals, GPS satellite signals, and Bluetooth®, all of which can be used to correct the current time setting for outstanding accuracy. Price: $3,700 and available at gshock.com and the G-SHOCK Soho Store.
