Anonimo Nautilo Bianco

Just in time for winter, Anonimo releases a new Nautilo watch with a dial that perfectly matches the current Alpine weather just outside the company’s relatively new Swiss headquarters. Anonimo, which moved its headquarters from Florence to Chavannes-de-Bogis near Geneva, says it has been located “on the other side of the Matterhorn since 2013,” and adds that its watches now meet the Swiss Made criteria.

Known for its diving watches (former Panerai designer Dino Zei helped to create the first Anonimo watches two decades ago), the company this week re-releases Nautilo Bianco, a dive watch with a white opaline dial. This latest model contrasts with the typical gray or black dials of most Nautilo watches, a cushion-cased collection with a crown at 4 o'clock. Anonimo claims that many divers deem this as the most comfortable position for the wearer.

However, its location at 4 o’clock is not the most unusual aspect of the Nautilo crown. Note the graduated crown protector just above the crown. This small detail subtly yet effectively repels potentially problematic objects, such as doors or knobs, before they can inflict any damage to the winder. The protector is a barely noticeable design item that other sports watches typically echo with a less attractive, always bulkier protuberance.

The Nautilo Bianco boasts a 44.4mm case and a white dial with luminescent indexes, markers and inner rail. The diver-marked ceramic bezel, available in black or grey, frames Anonimo’s characteristic 12, 04 and 08 o’clock dial numeral triangle that together symbolize the letter A in Anonimo. The double baton markers, all applied and filled with luminescent material, accentuate that symbolized letter A.

The Anonimo Nautilo Bianco is equipped with a Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement that offers a 38 -hour power reserve. Wearers can choose between the black and gray ceramic bezel and opt for either a bicolor DLC and stainless steel or a stainless steel case. Prices: Grey Bezel: $2,290, Black Bezel: $2,350.
