This timepiece is a contemporary reinterpretation of Anonimo diving watches originally designed by the military engineer Dino Zei. (Recall that Zei was the designer at Officine Panerai prior to its purchase by Vendome/Richemont in 1997. Zei then started Anonimo.)
This special edition (300 pieces) features a crown at 4 o'clock, a key characteristic of Anonimo dive watches. The Nautilo in the past year has undergone a number of technical and aesthetic changes, including a new case design incorporating a unique, and fairly sleek, crown protection structure. While the Anonimo Nautilo series encompasses numerous dial hues and case materials (including bronze, which Anonimo has offered for many years) this cushion-shaped steel-cased edition features a black dial with red accents on the black DLC bezel and on the seconds hand. The dual-tone design echoes the colors of the Anonimo partners SFS Sailing team, which sails under red and black livery. Price: $1,999.

Founded in Italy in 1997 and now based in Switzerland, Anonimo combine Swiss precision with rugged Italian sports chic. Anonimo watches are a contemporary reinterpretation of the professional watches once produced on the banks of the Arno for combat divers from the Marina Militare. Pioneering in the use of bronze in watchmaking, to work this alloy Anonimo relies on the exclusive expertise of Florentine craftsmen, who have been making cases since 1939.
