Timecrafters 2016

The Dials of TimeCrafters 2016

In just a few days TimeCrafters 2016 opens at the Park Avenue Armory in New York. As America’s largest public watch show, TimeCrafters will offer watch enthusiasts unparalleled access to the very newest timepieces seen and discussed all year on iwmagazine.com and in the pages of International Watch. Eighteen high profile watch companies will show their best at TimeCrafters, and unless you travelled to Baselworld in March or were lucky enough to attend the trade-only SIHH in January, chances are you haven’t yet seen any of the debut 2016 timepieces about to be on display at TimeCrafters.

As an appetizer, we’ve pictured eighteen timepieces you can see and try on during TimeCrafters 2016, which opens to the public at 11 am this lucky Friday, May 13. If any particular timepiece seems difficult to remove from your wrist, perhaps there’s no need to take it off. For the first time in TimeCrafters history collectors can arrange to purchase their must-have watch directly at the show.

Many exhibiting brands will have special activities and displays to complement their watch exhibitions. For example, in addition to showcasing new watches like two specialized Indy 500 dials for its Connected Watch, TAG Heuer will exhibit an actual Indy 500 show car to commemorate the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 motor race, set for May 29. Hublot’s Formula 1 simulator will give visitors the chance feel what it’s like to drive a racecar and Roger Dubuis will offer collectors the opportunity to check out its Astral Skeleton universe by being immersed in a 3-D virtual reality experience via Oculus Rift glasses.

These are just a few experiences that await collectors at TimeCrafters 2016. Below is a summary of the many activities, talks, panels and invitations the organizers of the three-day event have put together to complement the primary watch company exhibits on the show floor. Note that International Watch, a TimeCrafters media sponsor, will lead tours visiting the exhibitors at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

We look forward to seeing you there!
