Don’t be afraid to take a swim with the Seamaster Planet Ocean. This watch features a water resistance of 600m, or 2,000 feet! For the deep dives or pool trips you’re planning for the summer, the Planet Ocean comes equipped with a helium release valve at 10 o’clock. This is designed to slowly release pressure as you’re coming up from your deep dive. The orange bezel helps make this watch easily read under water, especially when paired with the luminova on the indices found on the black dial. Govberg Price: $2,950.
The IWC Aquatimer is another watch that will dive deep, this time to 2,000m. While the watch can dive with potential sea monsters, it sits low on the wrist. This is due to the somewhat conical caseback and rounded lugs. The case is 44mm but thanks to its thinner design, it can be worn under a shirt sleeve or over a dive suit. The bracelet features a quick release, with not tools, from the case allowing for easy cleaning after resurfacing from your dive. Govberg Price: $3,350.
Built to withstand the sea and sand, the Breitling Superocean 42 features a water resistance of 1500m. The watch is limited to 2000 pieces with a blue dial, matching blue bezel and diamond lugs. The blue of this watch makes it look home on the beach, mimicking the deep blue sea. Whether you’re diving into the ocean or sitting in a dark room, the time is easily read. This is thanks to the large hands and markers filled with a generous amount of luminous coating. Govberg Price: $4,750
With a water resistance of 1,000m, the Master Compressor Diving GMT is ready for summer. Even at 46mm, the watch doesn’t weigh down the wrist thanks to its titanium case and rubber strap. While being an oversized sports watch, the lugs are curved downwards allowing for a secure fit on even a smaller watch. The dial is easy to read with large, luminous indices and numerals. The rectangular white and blue space at 6 o’clock is in fact the seconds indicator. Dive watches require a constantly operating indicator to show the movement is operating. The shading of the blue and white rotate around the space. Govberg Price: $7,750.
Rolex is known for creating water resistant watches and the Sea-Dweller 4000 fits right in with other models. This “4000” in the name is the depth, in feet, that it can dive. The bracelet can be adjusted by 2mm increments up to 20mm and because it is a dive watch, it can also be extended up to 26mm so it can be worn on the outside of a dive suit. The 40mm stainless steel case is durable, making it a modern tool watch. Govberg Price: $8,450.
For someone looking to dive even deeper, the Luminor 1950 Submersible Limited Edition PAM 285 could be just the option. This limited edition watch, one out of just 250, can take you down to 2,500m. The case is titanium, making the watch feel much lighter than its 47mm case size may lead on. The large round hour markers are filled with a luminous coating making them stand out against the deep black dial in the depths of the ocean. Staying true to Panerai designs, the crown is protected by a crown guard which avoids any unwanted adjustments when you’re diving. Govberg Price: $10,750.
While the King Power Oceanographic 4000 may look extremely complicated, it is actually designed for deep dives to 4,000m. The 48mm carbon fiber case sits on a blue crocodile strap and is a limited edition piece of just 500. The bold watch is one of the most complicated dive watches from Hublot. The internal rotating bezel crown is located at 2 o’clock and is protected with a crown guard to keep divers safe. The crown is able to be ratcheted to keep the internal rotating bezel uni-directional. The caeback is engraved with the logo of the Oceanographique Museum of Monaco. Govberg Price: $14,500.
