It’s inspired. It’s emblematic. And it’s one gorgeous jewelry watch. Van Cleef & Arpels has introduced this week a reincarnation of its famous Cadenas timepiece, which first made its debut in 1935.
The 2015 rendition, while true to its source, offers a few thoughtful updates. The subtly angled mother-of-pearl watch dial, while still very unobtrusive, is a bit larger than its predecessor for easier visibility. The flawlessly polished clasp affords increased security, thanks to two small ceramic beads inside, and a hidden part of the clasp is slated for personal engraving.
Various watch styles are available, including models in white or yellow gold, on an alligator strap or bracelet, with or without diamonds. The Cadenas Pavee is a blizzard of snow-set diamonds and is a stunning example of what keeps Van Cleef & Arpels at the top of its field. Cadenas is powered by a quartz movement.
