Federal Counillor Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf will be ceremonially opening the BaselWorld 2013 show tomorrow, April 25, in Basel, Switzerland. She will be accompanied by member of the Cantonal Government of Basel-Stadt Eva Herzog, p resident of the Exhibitors Committee Jacques J. Duchene and Rene Kamm, CEO of MCH Group. This year BaselWorld will be staged in a new hall complex designed by architects Herzog & de Meuron, and host 1460 exhibiting companies and over 100,000 professional visitors from around the world. The new facility will allow exhibitors to showcase their brand and products more effectively than they could before. Some 1000 exhibition stands will be in use for the first time ever. A new layout was developed in close cooperation with the exhibitors to combine functionality with aesthetics, and reflects the increasing overlap between the various sectors of the watch and jewelry industry. BaselWorld 2013 runs from April 25 to May 2.
