Celebrate Valentine's Day With a Watch for Her

Romance is the name of the game for Valentine’s Day, with flowers and candy topping the list of things to gift to that special someone. For watch lovers, a fine timepiece is always the right choice and, unlike roses and chocolate, it will bring years—perhaps generations—of joy. Here are some love-themed ladies timepieces from various luxury watchmakers to help make the day an ardent one.

Perfect for Valentine's Day 2018, the Breguet Classique Phase de Lune Dame

The 30mm white gold Classique Phase de Lune Dame 9085 features brilliant-cut diamonds and subtly graded pink sapphires on the bezel, while the lugs at the top (12 o’clock) are embellished with diamonds and those at the bottom with sapphires. The hand-finished and meticulously decorated self-winding Caliber 537L, with 45 hours of power reserve, drives the hours, minutes, small seconds and phases of the moon. Blued steel Breguet hands traverse the white mother-of-peal dial, while Roman numerals mark the time. The moon-phase indicator and small seconds, at 6 o’clock, are set against a lacquered pink backdrop, which gently complements the tones of the surrounding pearl. A pink satin-finish alligator leather strap accompanies this distinctly feminine 14-piece Valentine’s Day 2018 limited edition. Price: $31,300

Franck Muller

Part of Franck Muller’s Vanguard Lady collection, the new Vanguard Heart Skeleton reveals an openwork dial comprising seven sculpted and superimposed hearts, integral to the 153-component skeletonized, manually would movement. Functions include hours, minutes and small seconds at 6 o’clock. Shown here in rose gold, the timepiece features red details—including hour markers, crown and leather strap—that combine to create a watch that is both romantic and fashionable, all the while demonstrating the watchmaking expertise of Franck Muller. The Vanguard Heart Skeleton measures 32mm across and is also available in white gold or steel. Price: 20,800 CHF (about $22,284) in stainless steel and 26,800 CHF (about $28,712) in gold

Harry Winston

Harry Winston celebrates Valentine’s Day in sparkling style, with diamonds, rubies and sapphires decorating the white gold Ocean Valentine’s Day Automatic 36mm. And to ramp up the romance, it features a gemstone-studded retrograde seconds counter at 6 o’clock in the shape of a heart. Powered by an automatic movement, Caliber HW2101, this jewelry watch is decorated with 152 brilliant-cut diamonds, 28 baguette-cut diamonds, 12 baguette-cut sapphires, eight baguette-cut rubies and one emerald-cut diamond on the dial at 12 o’clock. There are just 14 pieces in the edition, each fitted on a red alligator leather strap. Price: $62,900

Jaquet Droz

The Jaquet Droz Petite Heure Minute Cuprite elegantly honors Valentine’s Day—and fine watchmaking—with its blazing cuprite dial, white mother-of-pearl offset subdial and 35mm gold case. Inside, the double-barrel Jaquet Droz 2653.P self-winding mechanical movement, with an 18-karat red gold oscillating weight and 68 hours of power reserve, drives the hours and minutes; it is visible through the sapphire caseback. Two hundred thirty-two diamonds totaling 1.23 carats decorate the bezel and lugs, adding an opulent edge to the red gold. This is a 28-piece limited edition, and each watch is fitted on a rolled-edge, handmade red leather strap. Price: $32,600
