Dior VIII Diamond Circle-Set Bezel
28mm, 33mm, 38mm White Ceramic, Mother-of-pearl and diamonds
In 2013, a new precious and feminine Dior VIII comes to complete the collection’s day wardrobe. This time, the collection’s signature white mother-of-pearl and circle of diamonds is embellishing its bezel and dial. In white ceramic and steel, this version comes in sizes 28mm and 33mm with a quartz movement, and in size 38mm with an automatic movement and a white lacquered oscillating weight.
“White is pure and simple and matches with everything.”
“I dreamt of being an architect; as a couturier, I have to respect the principles of architecture.”
Monsieur Dior’s words still resonate today in Les Ateliers Horlogers Dior in Switzerland and are at the origin of Dior VIII’s structured silhouette: slender and round with a bracelet composed of small ceramic pyramids. Graphic and madly elegant, Dior VIII recalls the iconic “Bar” jacket. Its name, as if to highlight the very superstitious Monsieur Dior’s lucky number even better, recalls the date of the creation of his couture house, on the 8th of October 1946, the name of his first collection baptised “En Huit” (In Eight) or even the VIIIth arrondissement of Paris, cradle of the House on Avenue Montaigne. Day models with a dial set or not with a trimming of precious stones; cocktail models with a bezel decorated with baguette-cut coloured stones or evening models with the “Dior Inversé” calibre, whose functional oscillating weight placed on the dial recalls the swirl of a ball gown. Dior VIII firmly establishes itself as the reflection of a woman’s wardrobe.
