MILAN and LAS VEGAS, Nevada (June 9, 2012) — At InfoComm 2012, Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry alongside Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. will present a unique combination of an immersive luxury retail experience backed by eye-catching, innovative technology—June 13-15 in Las Vegas.
The Samsung booth (#C6319) will feature a giant hourglass structure comprising multiple, Samsung Tiled Display (UD22) products, which will fully showcase the groundbreaking Samsung Transparent LCD display technology that Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry is harnessing for its top storefront windows. Whether used as single units or as an impressive video wall, Samsung’s 22” LED LCD square displays provide a means to achieve a flexible, digital design. Further, Samsung’s Transparent LCD Panel technology provides an unparalleled opportunity for Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry to provide eye-catching images over its storefront window glass—while brilliantly displaying their products behind it. The modular aspects of Samsung’s Tiled Display, coupled with its ultra-thin bezels, ensure a seamless visual experience when used as part of a video wall and along with Samsung’s Transparent LCD display.
The tower of Transparent LCD screens will broadcast video content from Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry in an animation that will be projected on and around a collection of watches and jewelry on display. The featured models include pieces from the latest Bamboo and I-Gucci ranges, including the newly launched I-Gucci Sport.
Earmarking InfoComm 2012, Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry also created unique Web content—compatible with all mobile devices—to promote the new I-Gucci Sport, a bold, digital, dual-time zone watch with chronograph, regatta, and tachymeter functionalities, among others. Visitors to the booth can interact with the product by using their Samsung phones or Galaxy tablets. This special Web content can also be accessed via this QR code:
This partnership between Samsung Electronics and Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry represents an unprecedented and unique fusion between luxury and technology. To date, this powerful collaboration has resulted in the launch of the first ever Digital Shop-in-Shop, which Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry will install in a number of outlets worldwide.
Taking the form of an interactive, 40” touch screen, the wall-mounted display offers an exciting and dynamic substitute for static posters thanks to its ability to broadcast video content and animation. Designed for use by sales staff and to enhance the customer’s in-store experience, the Samsung screen can be customized to suit the needs and demographic of each store.
A Samsung Galaxy Tab completes the design of the Digital Shop-in-Shop counter, stocked with Timepieces or Jewelry product catalogues, related information and a selection of products that, consumers can easily leaf through a more interactive way.
With this unique partnership, Samsung and Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry are together bringing digital technology to the retail environment—thus transforming traditional shopping into a multifaceted and innovative experience worldwide.
