The Breitling Jet Team completed its tour of Japan when visiting Fukushima, offering its support and encouragement to the region still recovering from the effects of the March 2011 tsunami.
Musicians, school children and dancers showed their appreciation for the European team’s visit upon their arrival. The pilots performed an aerobatic display while flying in, passing 12 cities in the Fukushima prefecture on the way.
The professional civilian aerobatic jet team was traveling through Japan as part of their Breitling Asian Tour. Prior to arriving in Fukushima, the team completed a performance above Kobe where over 2000 spectators, including 550 Japanese Breitling Club members, who watched from specially moored boats in Kobe harbour.
This was the first show by a European aerobatic jet team in Japan and included high-speed, high-g performance appearing on 10 different TV channels and 60 news websites.
The team enjoyed the warm reception from the locals as well as the scenery of Japan, remarking the crowning aerial highlight as flying past the snow-capped peak of the Mount Fuji volcano.
The pilots will now transit back to Europe before returning to Asia in Aug.
