At SIHH, Stephen Forsey sat down with Roberta Naas of International Watch and A Timely Perspective to talk about his firm’s major novelty for 2012, the GMT, as well as “Le Garde Temps, la Naissance d’une Montre,” an organization he has created along with his partner, Robert Greubel, and fellow master watchmaker Philippe Dufour.
The purpose of “Le Garde Temps, la Naissance d’une Montre” is to perpetuate and preserve the rare skills of traditional watchmaking for future generations. With the support of the three initiators, Michel Boulanger, a watchmaker teaching at the Paris Watchmaking School, will create truly handmade haute horlogerie pieces. Boulanger’s responsibility will then be to see that this knowledge is handed down to the next generation.
