Lange & Söhne’s 2012 Novelties
On the first day of SIHH, A. Lange & Söhne CEO Wilhelm Schmid very graciously took time to present the highlights of his 2012 novelties for iW readers. This SIHH was indeed a monumental one for A. Lange & Söhne, in which the German firm presented updates to its iconic Lange 1 range in the form of a perpetual calendar tourbillon and an updated Grand Lange 1, for which the firm developed an all-new caliber. Last, Mr. Schmid showed us the all-new Datograph Up/Down. In the opinion of many SIHH attendees, the Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar was perhaps the main highlight of this SIHH. And among the novelties previewed in the weeks leading up to the fair, the Datograph Up/Down was the instant “talking piece.”
